GOA - The land of beaches... You get to see all types of beaches - white water beach, rocky beach, black sand beach, ... you name it, you get it. So, 5 days in Goa during Diwali. What does a bachelor guy who's gone with another bachelor guy do? Roam around the beaches, ride rented bike, laze around, drink and sleep (??!!!). Well, I did exactly the same ( though I wouldn't want to explain in detail the fourth and fifth item. ) Well.. talking about what best to do in Goa, one thing I can suggest is to chuck any organised trip inside Goa. Best is to rent a cool bike, buy a map, acquaint with a localite to learn the places to visit and bike to those places. One thing that was irritating was the manner in which the localites milk the tourists. Everything is charged at exhorbitant rates. Any 8 Re softdrink is sold at 15 or even 20 Rs everywhere!! One nice thing I found was, there were lots of these beach shacks ( small bar cum restaurants built of wood ) along the beaches, where one can just laze around with a single drink for almost 2 hours. Another good thing about Goa is, it has minimal roads and one cannot easily loose his way in Goa. Map was sufficient to reach a place in Goa. In all, it was a good time well spent.
