While I was wondering, not even a trip to US would move my lazy being to get to update my blog, this happened:











Quite beautiful. Of the two things I wanted to before returning (1. See snow. 2. Drive without major incidents. ), one has happened. And am hopeful of the second one too :)

Ok, now to the background. I came to Atlanta for a 8 week business visit, and would be leaving back end of January. Met a couple of college-mates. It was nice to meet after long and have dinner ( at their expense of-course ;-) ). Went to Washnigton DC for Christmas holidays with a colleague. Met my cousins and families and had great time with them. The only let-down was that Aravind ( EEE Anna for those who know ), was at Washington DC and I did not know that when I went there. Well, am starting to take pride at our consistency at screwing up.

It's been a reasonably organized life here ( though getting hectic of-late ). This being suburbs of Atlanta, life's been peaceful. The only downside is, there is absolutely no public transport. I am having to drive down a few miles, even if I need to get a nail cutter. And, my stereotypical misconceptions about the work culture here ( that Americans are more workaholic than the Brits ), took a good beating. People here seemed to have a very good work-life balance. It's been a major surprise, but on the pleasant side. ( signs of my maturity ;-) )

On the food front, have been living on frozen Indian food and rice mostly. However, trying to taste other cuisines over weekends. So far, mexican has been good. Esp. the Burrito. What more do you want, when you get rice, roti and beans in one, mixed and wrapped as well. Tried out a Greek restaurant. That's been decent as well. Still trying to make my peace with Chinese though. Overall, US has been a 'meets expectation'.
