Finally, a getaway from the hot bangalore weather. This 3 week at London is going to be a good relief in terms of the nice weather, how so ever screwed up be my position at work. But, who said my work life at Bangalore was not screwed up. Though the weather here is a little hotter than what I expected, it's still a better place than bangalore.
Flew Srilankan airlines through Colombo ( a short 1 hour waiting period, thankfully ). Colombo seems to be a nice place, atleast from what I saw near the airport. Should go to some places in Lanka on a nice tour some time. The 10 hour journey from Colombo to London was more painful than what I expected.
I see a lots of Indians around. Of every 4 people I see, atleast one person seems to be an Indian. Some parts of the city are unbelievably indianized. So much to the extent that there is Saravana Bhavan at East Ham. Guess, it won't be long before one of those Saravana Bhavan look-alike props up some where here.
In terms of work, I am starting to realize, how much disconnected higher ups are, with the grass roots level. An efficient communication mechanism, and a concerned management would make the system lot efficient than they currently are. The taller the hierarcy, the more inefficient the system tends to become. Sounds like the typical words from a die-hard, anti-mgmt techie? Well.. that's what I am !
